Barcelona City Council has already announced the initiative to install three buildings of 92 prefabricated social housing units on municipal-owned lots. A measure that shows the usefulness and functionality of this type of houses, increasingly viable according to the new trends in the sector.
In addition, a recent study conducted by the German Economic Institute reveals how housing construction as we know it today will change in the near future due to factors such as the lack of public investment, the rapid increase in the value of properties or the shortage of skilled labor, among others. With this panorama, several experts of the sector already warn that it is necessary to change the way of thinking about our houses and how we should inhabit them. They aim to innovate in construction, address a more efficient, industrialized construction, include modular technology, thus reducing costs and making housing more affordable.
Modular Prefabricated Homes
Secin Group have created the EasyHomes system, developed together with the company LernerHomes, which consists of an industrialized modular system of prefabricated houses based on sandwich panels, pieces of laminated wood (LVL) or metal, and anchoring and adjustment systems. These pieces of LVL serve to form the resistant structure of the system while they join and stiffen the panels together.
In the case of plumbing and electricity installations, special panels are prepared with the pipes and electrical conduits suitable for each situation. This system has been designed so that the assembly is simple, without big tools or machinery, light, so that it can be manipulated by no more than two operators. It is only necessary to follow the general and specific instructions of each project for a perfect assembly. For this, all the pieces are delivered nomencladas, with their identification and position within the project, cut and prepared to join them by screws to each other.
