One of the fundamental aspects when carrying out the calculation and structural design of any building is to know in detail the base where the structure will be located, the type of soil and the geotechnical character of it. This is complicated when the destination of the building is an area of high seismicity, such as, for example, a large part of Central and South America.
Precisely one of Secin Group’s specialties is Seismic Engineering and vibration analysis. Our engineers are recognized experts in the static and dynamic analysis of steel and concrete structures, as well as in the optimal design of complex technical installations. In all the structures affected by vibrations we have found cheaper alternative solutions. For example, the acoustic insulation of a residential building in the green corridor of Madrid, a few meters from the railway line.
Design large anti-seismic structures
One of the outstanding consulting projects of Secin Engineering has been the review of the project of structures for the execution of the BBVA Bancomer operating center in Mexico City. A building 130 meters high with nine basement floors and 31 above ground. The scope of this work consisted, firstly, in the review of the execution project, so that all the incidents were detected so that they could be corrected and the works tendered correctly, avoiding deviations and extra costs due to errors, errors or omissions . Secondly, structural changes were proposed for the economic and functional optimization of the building. This forced to recalculate the tower located in the high seismicity zone and to check the entire execution project carried out by the SOM study.
Another of the most complex works was the Mirazul Tower of Panama, a tower 180 meters high, spread over 48 floors that house a total of 115 high standing homes and a constructed area of 66,000 square meters.
